A: Not only can you sell all of them but you will only
pay for one membership price! You can sell 1 to 1,000 books or college textbooks
from school or in general and all you pay is the up front membership fee for administration
costs.
You will typically receive about 50% to 85% more back for your books or college
textbooks then if you did the typical buy back programs that are featured at your
College or University.
Not only this but we do not charge any Commission fees,
Transaction fees, or Posting fees! This web site
is for students, teachers, and parents to help students save money on their textbooks
- not make money on your books or college textbooks. We charge one up front administration
fee that we feel is appropriate for the services we provide and the costs it takes
to maintain Buy Used Textbooks at a level that provides an easy to use web site.
Q: Are there any hidden fees on this site in any respect?
A: No . . . . None . . . one membership fee and that
is all you will see. Any transactions you make with other book vendors we have partnered
with or other students selling their college textbooks will be separate from us
and we can not control those prices nor do we intend to.
Q: How do I know when someone wants to buy my book?
A: Good question, when someone is interested in your
textbook they can either email you through our system so your email is NOT given
out or they will just purchase the book. We have the option to pay for your book
through PayPal.
At sign up you can enter in your PayPal account email and we will forward the proceeds
on to you. Once this is done your book is sold and you will need to arrange shipping
with the student that purchased your textbook.
Q: How do I complete the transaction when selling
my textbook?
A: You will either be notified via email through our
system with a message from someone that wants to know more or is interested in your
textbook or you will find a payment in your PayPal account.
If you received a email then arrange with the person how you would like to complete
the transaction and or your terms and conditions. You can outline these in your
posting of your textbooks in the details section.
If you have received a payment from someone from PayPal respond to the buyer to
confirm the address and ship the textbook out in a timely manner.
Q: Do I need a PayPal account to completed the transaction?
A: No, you can use PayPal though as a credit card processor to help purchase a textbook.
You do not need an account with them to complete the process but it does help to
create an account with PayPal. We chose to use PayPal based on their ability to maintain
an amazing track record, customer support, conflict resolution center, and ease
of use.
Q: What kind of textbooks can I sell on Buy Used Textbooks?
A: Anything goes. We are here for you to save money on your college textbooks.
Q: What if I don't know all the information during
the process of listing my textbooks?
A: Great question, at anytime through your "My Profile"
page you can edit the book listing. Please feel free to do this at anytime and once
you sell your textbook you can delete the listing so you don't receive anymore emails
or potential payments you would need to refund.
Q: I'm flexible on my the price of my college textbooks,
how do I show this?
A: You can put this in your listing under the details
of the listing. Be very open with the fact that you want the asking price but are
open to smaller amounts if they are reasonable.
Q: How will my book be listed once it is listed?
A: When someone
searches for a textbook to purchase listings will come up from their search criteria.
The buyer will select a book that they want to look at further and our partners
will show their prices and you will be #1 on the list. Students always come up number
one on all book searches and then our partners. If the buyer select to look at your
textbook further then they will see the listing that you approved to go online.
Q: Do I have to be a member to sell a textbook?
A: Yes you do, in
order to maintain a high quality, well maintained, and growing web site we do charge
for services provided. If you just want to buy a textbook please feel free without
a membership. If you want to sell a textbook you will need an membership which ranges
from $4.95 to 24.95 depending on what you need.
If you are a freshman or a sophomore you may wan to consider the lifetime membership
based on the amount of books you will want to be selling each term. It also seems
that college students are taking longer to get through college in addition to extending
their education to higher level degrees. With this in mind it also is in your best
interest to go with the lifetime membership.
